Maui Mayor's Kokua Ball

March 9, 2013 – The Mayor Arakawa Community Kokua Fund, a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency is hosting the Mayor’s Kokua Ball, a fund raiser for the private charity on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm at the King Kamehameha Golf Course, Waikapu. “We are grateful to have Hollywood Film Producer & Financier, Ryan Kavanaugh, CEO of Relativity Media as our Honorary Chairperson,” explains Event Chairperson, Rita O’Connor.

This elegant evening features a celebrity-style red carpet walk with complimentary portrait photographs and a champagne greeting during the No-Host Cocktail Hour with live music. Guests, along with the “beautiful people” and undisclosed celebrities attending the event will also have an opportunity to bid on stunning artwork donated by a select group of Maui’s talented artists during the Silent Art Auction, as well as purchase tickets for a deluxe luxury raffle package. The Reception is followed by Chef Munoz’s award-winning cuisine with music and entertainment by Déjà vu Band, Aloha Ballroom Dance Academy, Maui’s own “Marilyn Monroe,” Emcee Mr. Charles Cook and open dancing throughout the evening – all for a great cause! Attire is elegant (at the Guests’ discretion).

Dance Magic 808 Sweetheart Ball

Aloha Everyone,

In preparation for our Sweetheart Ball - Dance Extravaganza this coming Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at the palladium, we are updating our membership list. The list will be used at the reception desk to check-in everyone. Members are free. Guest charges $5.00.

We have not passed out all the membership cards and it can be picked up at the dance but you won't need the membership card to attend our dance events, classes or practices.

If you are not a member and would like to join us, please see the attachment for the membership form. If you will be mailing the form to us, please do so by Wednesday, Feb. 20 so that we'll receive it by Friday and can add you to the membership list. It'll be faster to check-in on Feb. 23 if your name is on the list, but if you can't mail it out by Wednesday, you can also pay for membership at the Ball on Feb. 23.

We have over 150 members and many of our members are members of other dance organizations. We and some of our regular members are also members of other organizations that have dances at the palladium. We encourage everyone to support the other dance clubs at the palladium. It's a lot of fun dancing at the palladium and the clubs do their best to make it enjoyable for everyone.

USA Dance Latin Workshop

Get ready for two great workshops by Stephan Krauel and Denise Jordaine Krauel, coming your way this month, Saturday afternoon, February 23 and Tuesday evening, February 26.

The last workshop with Stephan and Denise was a smashing success! By request, we have invited them once again for a workshop on International Tango and International Cha Cha Cha. Stephan’s explanations for techniques are the greatest that all will be able to understand. No one else in Honolulu, gives such techniques.

There is a lot of information for you so please read this email. We don't want you to miss out on some dance events.

If you haven't joined us yet, it's not too late to become a member of Dance Magic 808for 2013.

Annual membership fee is $10 (Jan. - Dec. 31, 2013). See attached membership form.

Members will be able to attend some dances, classes, and practices at the palladium free of charge.

For non-members, future event (after Feb. 23, 2013) charges may range from $5 - $10 at the palladium.

Our first free social dance for members will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013. See info below.

Come & join us for an evening of great dancing. Members, join us in participating in the Dance Extravaganza. There will be 4 latin dances & 4 ballroom dances. We want to encourage all to participate, so please let us know if you would like to participate. It'll be a fun evening for everyone. If you are free on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, the City & County of Honolulu is having their annual Valentine's Ball at the palladium. Advance Purchase Cost: $10 with bento / there will be exhibitions and lots of general dancing.

We will be performing our new quickstep routine and we hope you'll be able to come and support us.
