This is a rare opportunity for Hawaii's dancers to be able to learn from the very best. Whether you are a social dancer, competitive dancer, exhibition dancer, amateur or Pro, you will be sure to take away with you valuable information from TALIAT's professional and personal insights about organizing, choreography and technique. TALIAT is coach to numerous dance instructors and professionals in the U.S. and world-wide. He coaches all styles including International, American as well as Theater Arts.
While the list of accolades is too long, briefly, TALIAT's Bio includes the following:
Partnering wife Marina Tarsinov, TALIAT and Marina represented Russia at more than 20 World and European Championships where they were ten-dance finalists in Europe and semi-finalists in the World. In Holland, they were Exhibition World Championship finalists. They were also finalists of the European and World Cups in the Professional Latin and Standard programs as well as many other prestigious international competitions including the German Open, Dutch Open, and the United States Dance Championships. In 1992 the Tarsinovs moved to New York and have run the New York East Side Fred Astaire Dance Studio since 1994.
Many of today's Champions have been and continue to be coached & under the tutelage of TALIAT and/or his wife Marina. To have him here in Hawaii is an immense privilege.
Click on the following link and get a glimpse of TALIAT conducting a workshop at the the International Congress at Blackpool in 2007:

Recognize the couple demonstrating the rumba on the video? Yes, none other than Yulia Zagoryuchenko and her then-partner Max Kozhevnikov who performed at our very own Hawaii Star Ball a few years ago! And you will recognize something else very special in addition to TALIAT and the dancers, that is the MUSIC! - Yulia & Max were dancing to the tune of local Diva Melveen Leed's "Malaguena Salerosa!" Imagine that, haunting Melveen all the way at Blackpool!!!
From Russia, to New York, to the Tokyo Superstars, to the Philippine Star Ball, to Blackpool and now to Hawaii! Come experience the legend, the "Master" himself, TALIAT Tarsinov at one or both of our workshops!

Yanna's Dance Fitness Class Location Change
Yanna's Dance Fitness Class - Location Change
A Note from Marie Laderta
Hi Dancers!
Want to let you know that Yanna's Monday evening group exercise class for dancers will be moving to Aloha Activity Center starting next Monday, March 26th!
Aloha Activity Center is located at 725 Kapiolani Boulevard, across the street from Yanagi Sushi. Validated parking is available in the building.
Yanna's fitness class follows the Luigi technique for warm up and stretching, focusing on individual muscle groups needed for dancing. Luigi is a famous dancer in New York who overcame and conquered his paralysis from an accident by developing a set of warm-up, strengthening and stretching exercises. These exercises enabled him not only to regain movement, but to become one of America's great dancers!
Having attended Yanna's first class last Monday, I can't wait to go again! My core and muscles took a well-deserved beating, but they came to life and are being worked to move at their optimal capacity.
Come join us, whether it's for dancing or otherwise, these exercises are good for your overall fitness, physical and mental health!
The cost is $15 per person per class, or $50 per month (4 classes).
For more information, contact Yanna Samkova at: yannajs@gmail.com or call (732) 499-0407.

WASABI Goin' Big Time @Manoa Grand Ballroom
Nor strong winds, nor thunderstorms will stop WASABI's Doreen from getting the word out; not even the computer virus. So go ahead and read Doreen's e-mail and see what da Leeda and this talented Oldies but Goodies Band got in store during March Madness...
Sorry for the late notice from me (my computer contracted a virus & crashed), but hopefully, you've heard thru the guys in the band, or from some of the people in our WASABI gang about our upcoming event at the Japanese Cultural Center's (JCCH) Manoa Grand Ballroom (MGB) on Friday, March 30, 2012, from 7:30-10:30 p.m. The event is called "LIVE at the MGB" featuring WASABI. Tickets are now on sale for $15. Included in the ticket price is a pupu buffet and get a $2 parking discount voucher. Parking at JCCH is $5, so with the discount voucher, you'll park for $3, OR buy 2 or more tickets and get a $4 discount and pay only $1.
The Manoa Grand Ballroom is located on the 5th floor of JCCH, and there is an elevator in the parking garage that'll get you up to the 5th floor and right in front of the ballroom. Restrooms are clean and conveniently located right outside the ballroom, too.
Please reply to this email if you'd like me to reserve tickets for you. For those of you joining us at Dot's in Wahiawa this coming Friday, March 23rd, we'll have the tickets available for sale. This will be our first event there, so please let everyone you know about it so we can pave the way for more to come. There are other events coming up by Bernie at Kool Inspirations, so please stay tuned and check out Bernie & Bill's hard work on Olelo's Ohana Jam. Bernie & Bill have been videotaping all of our dance events for Ohana Jam, and you might get a glimpse of yourself on TV!!!
DON'T FORGET WE ARE AT DOT'S IN WAHIAWA THIIS FRIDAY! HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE, AND AT "LIVE AT THE MGB"!!!
Mahalo Plenty!
Love from me & da boyz,

Ilima Ballroom Dance Club Anniversary
I met Diane Wong, Prez of Ilima Ballroom Dance Club, a few days ago and she mentioned about the upcoming anniversary dance this month on the 24th. I couldn't find any announcement on the Internet....the only indication was a poster tacked on the Palladium Bulletin Board. Last night's Latin Festival Dance was a BLOCKBUSTER at the Palladium....a very entertaining showcase. Anyway, March Madness continues this weekend with the Ilima Ballroom Dance Club 29th Anniversary Dance at the Palladium.

A Little Bit More Info on da BASH Registration Form
Hola! Senior Teenagers and you Young ones who are planning to register for this years Nifty 50s/60s/70s Oldies Bash. Got some HOT NEWS from Wendell Kwan about the Registration Form. You gotta know Wendell or bettah yet you gotta imagine what this dynamo looks like so I've dug deep into my archives for this photo of him taken at last years "Bash". He's gonna get you Rock and Rolling when you meet him but fo' now go lend him an eyeball on what he wrote in the following e-mail.....
No doubt, Frank, we will again be a complete Sellout, probably earlier than last Bash where we completely soldout by Aug. 4th, 2011 and our event was not until Oct. 14th, last year! So we are continuing to emphasize, First Come, First Served for Paid Registration and First Come, First Served for Reserved/Preferred Seating.
Frank, one more VERY important point. Please make sure to add a line to your emails "stressing" to everyone that all registration forms MUST be filled out completely, Ladies Maiden Names, Full Contact Info, School Graduated From, Year Graduated etc. We keep confidential files, info is not made public, but this DATA BASE info is important in our Marketing Efforts for now and the future! I think you see my point. This year if Paid Registration Forms are not completely filled out, the Registrations will be mailed back for completion. Really appreciate everyone's cooperation!
Have a great week Frank!

So guys and gals, don't let the "Smoke Get In Your Eyes" and start thinking "What A Difference A Day Makes" cuz some of your friends who register early for da Bash gonna be singing "Wish You Were Here". The deadline for registration is September 19 or WHEN COMPLETELY SOLDOUT. Now, who da guy Wendell? He's da guy who has been spearheading the Bash year after year so us Senior Teenagers can get together fo' fun one night and to enjoy the "Rock Around The Clock" era and go "Shake, Rattle, and Roll". 'nuff said fo' now! Here's Wendell's email.
Aloha El! (dat's me el.bailador) You are one of the FIRST I am informing as we WILL be soldout again, First Come, First Served!
